In 1989, Elijah Jones, at the golden age of 79 has a dream! To build his very own golf course!  
With a twist.  He wishes to preserve the natural state of the land as much as possible rather than blasting through it.  He sets about purchasing land in the municipality of Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix (Our Lady of Peace), Québec, Canada.  

He will join forces with Paul Simard who will actively participate in the construction of the magnificent log clubhouse and in the management of the course. 

Three years later in 1992, the dream becomes a reality with the official opening.     

HÉRITAGE, located at the foothills of the majestic Laurentian range is a 6,700-yard course with generous, large and undulating fairways, remarkable changes in elevation and spectacular panoramic views.   There are vast mature wooded areas, several ponds and riverways, well-groomed sand traps and well-cut roughs.  Above all else, there are well-maintained greens which are the Club’s pride and joy.  As a golfer, we are sure you will find them fun, fast and tricky! 

LEGACY… a revival, a new challenge! 

In April 2019, under the leadership of Denis Marcotte and with the help of his family and friend/business partner, the Héritage begins a new chapter in its history.  Mr. Marcotte takes to heart the beauty and potential of the course and is committed to restoring it to its former beauty and glory.  He has spent the past 5 years living up to that challenge.   To this day, we are sure golfers everywhere will agree that it was a successful endeavor.   Now it’s up to you to discover it for yourself! 

The objective at the Héritage:  to offer a quality golf course accessible to all level of golfers, from beginners to the best: for men, for women, for seniors, for children, for families. Together we can develop the next generation of golfers.   

Only a few minutes from Montebello and half-way between Montreal and Ottawa, Héritage golf is one of the most beautiful courses in the Outaouais region.
